Every account passes Aadhaar verification before sending a single interest. The check is mandatory and free on every plan — including Free. Paywalling identity verification on a matrimony platform creates the wrong incentive, so we don't.

→ Data handlingIf a profile feels off — to you, your amma, an akka — anyone in your Family Council can flag it. A real human reviews it within four hours. Patterns get escalated faster than that.
→ Reporting flowWe use UIDAI's Aadhaar e-KYC for primary identity, then run a separate selfie-match against the ID photo. Around eight percent of submissions fail one or both — those go to a manual reviewer in our Madurai office. No automation, no offshoring, no rubber-stamping.
Verification is mandatory and free. There is no path on Weddoo to send a first interest without passing it. Paid plans don't get a separate, faster, premium lane — everyone is on the same line.
Live API check. Name, DOB, address verified against the government registry.
Independent biometric. Catches stolen photos, AI-generated faces, and most catfishing patterns.

You can confirm via LinkedIn or a document upload — a small green badge appears on your profile.
Profile information lives in tiers: open, conditional, gated. You control which fields sit in each. The default is private; opening up is always an explicit toggle.
The fields people use to decide whether to send an interest. Visible to all verified Weddoo members in your search radius. Never indexed.
Contact details, family details, address, social handles. Nothing here is shared until the both Councils have accepted. The toggle is in your settings — no "smart" defaults.
Notes you've written, ratings you've left, comments from family members. This stays inside the household, even after you've connected with someone.
Most of the trust questions we get aren't about features — they're about what the platform does with what we know. We try to answer that question once, plainly, with the audit attached.
The full data-handling document is updated annually and signed off by an independent reviewer; the most recent version is linked below. Anything in this section that's contradicted by the document, the document wins.
Primary database is hosted in AWS Mumbai. Backups in AWS Hyderabad. No cross-border replication.
We don't license, sell, syndicate or share profile data with brokers, advertisers, or other apps. Confirmed in the annual audit.
AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit. Encrypted columns for Aadhaar, contact details, and family fields.
Deletion is one button. Within 30 days, your data is purged from primary and backup; no soft-delete tombstones live forever.
A real human in Madurai reviews every flag within four hours. Patterns are escalated faster than that. Repeated misuse gets banned — the verified ID makes ban-evasion hard.

Always by a human, always in Madurai. We don't queue flags overnight.
If three Councils flag the same profile, it's auto-hidden pending review.
